AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has renewed its long-standing partnership with Fraport Cargo Services (FCS), an independent freight handler at Germany’s Frankfurt Airport. Flying out of Frankfurt since 2005, ABC has employed FCS’ cargo-handling services since 2008.
ABC currently operates 18 weekly freight flights from its Moscow hubs to Shanghai; Hong Kong; Tokyo-Narita; Beijing; Osaka, Japan; Almaty, Kazakhstan; and Seoul-Incheon.
To Ludwig Hamburger, ABC’s regional director and vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the decision to renew the contract was an easy one. “Over the last few years, we have worked together [with FCS] to steadily improve the handling processes in the interests of our customers,” he said in a statement. “By extending our partnership, we have set the stage for us to continue growing at Frankfurt.”
FCS Managing Director Winfried Hartmann also points to the benefits of this partnership. “In order to be ready for future growth, right now we are modernizing our import handling operation by enabling more efficient use of space and introducing IT-assisted storage and retrieval processes,” he said in a statement. “We value ABC as a strategic partner and are very pleased by the trust in us that they have expressed with this decision.”
ABS utilizes Boeing 747 freighters for shipments.
