Air Liaison America and Avient have inked a deal enabling the freighter operator to grow its presence in the U.S. Under the new contract, Avient will scatter sales staff throughout the U.S. to provide representation for customers nationwide.
Although Avient will provide reservations from its Houston hub, the company will also operate branches in Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C. By serving these major metropolitan areas, Avient hopes to meet the needs of key domestic markets.
Still, Avient Commercial Manager Steve Landy points to the worldwide implications of his company’s expansion. “Under this new partnership, we will be able to offer both main-deck and lower-deck capacity from Texas,” he said in a statement. “This is crucial as the majority of cargo for the west and central coasts of Africa originates from Texas.”
Moreover, Avient said it will expedite shipments between the U.S. and Africa by operating three freighter carriers from the U.S. to Belgium’s Liège Airport, its European hub. In addition to slashing transit time in Europe, the company believes this will streamline the entire transportation process.
To Landy, it’s a proficiency that will directly benefit customers. “In combining Avient’s knowledge of the African market with Air Liaison’s in-depth U.S. commercial experience, we will be in a position to improve our already reliable services to existing customers, while bringing new customers on board,” he said.
