Cathay Pacific Airways has announced a number of new appointments to its senior management team. Philippe de Gentile-Williams has assumed the role of director
ofservice delivery and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the airline’s ground and air services. Algernon Yau, the current general manager, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), has transitioned to CEO of Cathay Pacific Services Ltd., the company that will operate the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal at HKIA. Anna Thompson, former general manager of Southeast Asia, is the new COO of Air Hong Kong.
Aer Lingus Cargo has appointed Peter O’Neill to cargo director. O’Neill has been with
Aer Lingus since 1989 and has held a number of key senior management positions. O’Neill will oversee the development of all commercial and operational elements of the cargo business.
Cargoitalia has appointed Richard Mohler to the newly created position of manager, network planning and revenue management. In his new post, the Swissair Cargo veteran will evaluate new routes and then set and achieve their revenue targets. Cargoitalia has also promoted Stefano Barone from industry affairs manager to the first chief representative for China and the Far East.
TNT Express has named Mark Pell country general manager for TNT Express UAE. A
nearly 30-year industry veteran, Pell previously held senior management roles with TNT in Asia, America, Europe and the Middle East.
Qantas Freight has named Mitch Wild as its new head of sales and marketing. Wild is a 20-year industry veteran.
The Thai Airways board of directors approved a number of personnel changes during its July meeting. On October 1, Saroj Yuttatri, the current director of the IT operations and services department, will be promoted to vice president of the department. Pongpeera Paisarnkulwong, who currently works in the flight operations deartment, will be the new vice president, aviation safety, security and standards.
Kuehne + Nagel has appointed Tim Scharwath to its management board. Effective September 1, Scharwath will head the company’s air logistics operations. Scharwath and Horst-Joachim Schacht, who will oversee K+N’s sea logistics business, will take on the responsibilities of outgoing executive vice president of sea and air logistics, Peter Ulber.
Randall Curran has joined OHL as the company’s CEO, replacing Bert Irigoyen. Curran has served in a varity of roles in the telecommunications and manufacturing industries.
MIQ Logistics has named Thomas Hickey business development director of its sales team. In this role, Hickey will head up new business efforts in the greater New York tri-state market.
BDP International has promoted David Poh to the position of general manager for Singapore. A nine-year veteran of BDP, Poh served as head of chemical logistics and supply chain operations prior to this appointment. He was also instrumental in establishing BDP’s warehouse and distribution operations.
Andrew Schmidt has joined AAR as senior vice president, supply chain, AAR Allen Asset Management. In his new role, Schmidt drives the strategy of AAR’s aftermarket business. He has spent 25 years in the aviation business, working everywhere from McDonnell Douglas to Oliver Wyman.
The Air Transport Association of America has named Sean Kennedy as its senior
vice president of global government affairs. Previously serving as special assistant of legislative affairs to President Barack Obama, Kennedy will be respo nsible for increasing the advocacy reach of the trade organization for leading U.S. airlines.
Sebastiaan Scholte, who currently serves as the CEO of Jan de Rijk Logistics, is the Cool Chain Association’s new secretary general. He has replaced Christian Helms, who will remain a member of the association. Scholte, a 14-year industry veteran, has worked for Aeromexpress and Cargolux.
The board of directors of the Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI) at the University of Denver has elected Michelle D. Livingstone to its panel. As vice president of transportation for The Home Depot, Livingstone oversees the movement of shipments into and within the company’s multi-channel supply chain. Additionally, John Bowe and Alan Stone, who recently retired from the board, have been granted ITI Board Emeritus status.
Adam R. Kokas, senior vice president, general counsel, chief human resources officer
and secretary of Atlas Air Worldwide, has been named chairman of the board of directors of the Cargo Airline Association.
The Messenger Courier Association of America (MCAA) has elected QCS Logistics’ Jason Burns, Esquire Express’ Steve Howard, and Priority Dispatch’s Julie Thomas to its board of directors.
