Etihad Airways is expanding in Africa and winning in Greece.
The airline is extending across Africa after signing a strategic commercial partnership agreement with Kenya Airways.
Etihad Airways will place its EY code on Kenya Airways flights from Nairobi to 27 destinations across Kenya Airways’ African network. Kenya Airways will place its KQ code on Etihad’s daily service from Nairobi to Abu Dhabi and up to 32 destinations across Etihad’s network.
The agreement will lead to greater collaboration between the airlines’ cargo operations.
Etihad has also won the award for Fastest Growing Airline to the Middle East at the 2013 Athens International Airport Airline Marketing Workshop. It is the second consecutive year that Etihad had earned top honors at the event.
More than 150 people in the Greek travel management field voted for the award at the event for Greek transport and travel industry.
Etihad began daily operations to and from Athens in June 2009.
