Swissport revenue grows 10 percent

Swissport International Ltd. reported a 10 percent revenue growth in 2012 compared with 2011.

Its total revenue for 2012 was more than $2 billion (CHF 1.9 billion).

This figure includes the effect of the acquisition of the former Flightcare operations in Spain and Belgium. Without taking Flightcare into account, 2012 revenue grew by 6 percent.

Swissport’s airfreight tonnage decreased by 6 percent in 2012.

The company attributed its revenue growth to expansion in Africa and large contract wins at airports such as Paris Charles-de-Gaulle, Copenhagen Airport and London-Gatwick. The acquisition of Flightcare also played a part in Swissport’s growth.
