Deutsche Post DHL’s revenue increased 5.1 percent during 2012.
In airfreight, volume and revenue fell during 2012 for the company, but gross margins were increased. Capital expenditures were used for a more efficient aircraft fleet and a new IT infrastructure for global forwarding.
The increase in revenue reflects the market position that DHL has in the world’s growth regions, especially in Asia. The company is now generating 70 percent of its revenue outside of Germany.
“With our strong performance in 2012, we have reached another milestone in our Strategy 2015,” said Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsch Post DHL. “In the past year, we made major progress on a journey that was, at times, far from easy. And we delivered on our promises – for the benefit of our customers, employees and shareholders.”
