During the first quarter of 2013, Hactl saw the most tonnes of cargo throughput in March with 246,912 tonnes. January saw 228,140 tonnes and February saw 168,860 tonnes.
The cumulative tonnage for the first quarter was 643,912 tonnes.
“February has always been a traditional slower month due to the extended Chinese New Year holiday,” Mark Whitehead, chief executive of Hactl, said. “After adjusting for the seasonal factor, the overall first-quarter figures were satisfactory. Looking into the second quarter, we expect that it will be at best flat compared to 2012 as slow economic recovery persists.”
