Lufthansa Cargo seeks name for its 777F

By Hpanchal on May 29, 2013

Lufthansa Cargo’s Boeing 777F needs a name.

The airline is holding an international competition that allows people to suggest a name for the aircraft, which will be delivered to Lufthansa in October.

The winner of the competition, which ends July 15, will be invited to Frankfurt for 777F’s welcome ceremony.

People can submit a name suggestion on the new Lufthansa Cargo Portal. A jury will choose a name from the entries at the end of the brainstorming phase.

I have some history in the naming of a new freighter type. I was instrumental in dubbing the JAL 747
Freighter as "SUMO" in the seventies when the aircraft was introduced in the Trans-Pacific market.

My suggestion is GRAF TRANSPORTER".

Please extend my Regards to Herr Otto. Danke.
