Gulf Air establishes all-cargo division

Gulf Air has launched Falcon Cargo, a brand encompassing Falcon Express that provides mail, animal, dangerous goods and high-value cargo transportation, among other services. As the freight arm for the Bahraini flag carrier, Falcon Cargo will benefit from Bahrain International Airport’s cargo infrastructure, airline officials said. read more

Qatar Airways continues push into North American cities

Qatar Airways will launch dedicated freight routes to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Toronto Pearson International Airport from its Doha hub via Luxembourg this month. Twice-weekly freight flights to Atlanta and Houston are slated to begin on November 2, while Toronto will enjoy weekly service beginning November 7. read more

Abu Dhabi airport moves ahead with perishable center

Officials at Abu Dhabi International Airport have completed the 6,000-square-meter first phase of a new perishable cargo terminal. Features of the completed terminal will include dedicated storage for food, a separate room for palletized goods, a Customs area and a room dedicated to food inspection. The second phase of the project is slated to be complete by the end of the year, officials said. read more
