Paperless Paris network gains traction

More than 80 airlines and sales agents have joined the Paris-based Cargo Information Network (CIN) since its launch at the start of 2012. New members include DHL Aviation, Corsair, Iberia, TAP Portugal, Air China and Asiana, as well as the carriers represented by Globe Air Cargo, Aero Cargo and EFIS Air, subsidiaries of the ECS group of GSAs.

Record year for holiday shipping

Holiday shipping records continue to fall by the wayside as consumers are “mousing” their way through the season. UPS says December 20 will be its busiest day in history. FedEx set a new one-day record on December 10 with 19 million packages. read more

The European Commission and Singapore have reached an agreement on a major free trade deal following more than two years of negotiations. EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht and Singapore’s Minister of Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, completed final negotiations on the agreement.

Dnata adds two carriers in the U.K.

Dnata has begun handling cargo for two carriers that have recently entered the U.K. market. Airblue, operating its first widebody operation from Pakistan, has signed a multi-year agreement for dnata to service its four-a-week A340 service between Manchester, Islamabad and Lahore.
