Delta Air Lines’ cargo revenue was down 5 percent in 2013.
During the last quarter of 2013, revenue was steady, decreasing by 1 percent.
Delta declined to provide its cargo tonnage figures due to “pricing concerns,” Liz Savadelis, a spokesperson for Delta Cargo, explains. But in 2013, the airline’s cargo tonne miles (CTM) performance was down less than 2 percent year over year.
“Despite a challenged cargo market that saw the entire industry experience heavy yield pressure, Delta Cargo held its own in 2013, with CTM performance down less than 2 percent year over year,” Tony Charaf, Delta’s chief cargo office, tells Air Cargo World. “Going forward, we’ll continue to focus on building our product offerings and offering the most seamless shipping experience with the help of Delta Cargo people worldwide – the best people in the air cargo business.”
