Hong Kong’s Asia Airfreight Terminal recently became the first air cargo terminal operator in Hong Kong to be accredited as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) with the highest Tier 2 status of compliance. The AEO program is administered by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department and promotes customs-to-business partnership to enhance international supply chain security.
“It is our great honor that AAT is the first air cargo terminal operator successfully accredited as an AEO Tier 2,” Khaw Hock Eng, AAT’s general manager, said.
To achieve this accreditation, AAT had to ensure that internal policies and procedures meet the standards of C&ED, which conducted on-site validations of AAT implementation of security measures and procedures.
