Jan Krems to head United Cargo
Jan Krems, an industry veteran with nearly 30 years in air cargo, confirmed Wednesday that he will serve as United Cargo’s next president.
Krems is now vice president Americas for Air France/KLM/Martinair Cargo. He has worked at KLM Cargo for two decades. Krems tells Air Cargo World that he does not know what date he will start his job with United.
United Airlines also confirmed that Krems will be named president of United Cargo.
Krems will replace Robbie Anderson, who has left United.
In his years with KLM Cargo, Krems has worked in Dubai, Singapore, Amsterdam, Paris, Chicago and now Atlanta. In his new role with United, Krems will be based in Chicago.
"We are excited to have someone of Jan's talent and vast industry experience join United," Greg Hart, United's executive vice president and COO, said in a news release that United emailed late Wednesday afternoon. "Jan's record of business success and leadership excellence makes him uniquely qualified to lead United Cargo as we work to continue our recent improvements and regain our position as an industry leader."
