AA Joins DHL In Holiday Cheer
American Airlines Cargo has supplied DHL Express with temperature-controlled containers to deliver 5,000 premium steak dinners and 2,500 lbs. of Dallas Cowboys football apparel to U.S. troops based in the Middle East.
Dave Brooks, president of AA Cargo said, “We extend special thanks to DHL Express for their very generous support and cooperation, not only on this mission, but on other missions in which we have partnered with great success.”
Last July, AA Cargo employees raised money through the “Kick-Start a Dream” program to purchase more than 1,100 soccer balls to send to U.S. Marines in Afghanistan via DHL Express. The Marines distributed the balls to Afghan children.
In a related move, DHL again has joined with the New York community to deliver hundreds of holiday trees, decorations and messages of support to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
New York businesses and community organizations including Dee’s Nursery, Adelis International Security, Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, Proctor-Hopson and Post 1896 Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) have donated 500 fully decorated trees and “Santa Sacks” filled with thousands of holiday cards written by local school children that will be shipped free of charge by DHL.
