Delta now runs daily flights from Miami to London’s Heathrow Airport, and KLM operates services between Miami and its Amsterdam hub four times a week. Air France will launch nonstop service between Orlando and its Paris hub three times a week starting in June.

The flight expansion is all part of the airline giants’ joint venture, which enables Delta, Air France and KLM to coordinate flights and share profits. Italian carrier Alitalia is also included in the agreement.

“The power of our successful joint venture allows Delta, Air France and KLM to embark on this significant international expansion in Florida, with new service connecting the state to these important European cities,” Delta's Glen Hauenstein said in a statement. “Our new nonstop service will provide an economic boost on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Erik Varwijk of Air France-KLM also points to the benefits of this venture. “With Miami-Amsterdam, KLM is adding another nonstop service to the joint venture. This is the 20th transatlantic route from Amsterdam served by KLM and Delta Air Lines. With more than 250 daily transatlantic flights and a fleet of more than 130 aircraft, this joint venture offers our customers a generous network with higher frequencies, attractive prices and tailored schedules for transatlantic travel.”

In addition to the new flights connecting Miami to London, Delta has also begun nonstop service between Miami and Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa.
