ST Aerospace reveals new maintenance contracts

ST Aerospace announced that it received new maintenance contracts totaling S$320m ($257 million) in the first quarter of 2011. Spanning from three months to one year, the contracts involve the company’s component total support, aircraft maintenance and modification, and engine total support businesses.

The contracts will be executed at ST Aerospace’s American, Asian Pacific and European facilities.

The company also reported a productive first quarter. According to ST Aerospace, it distributed 144 repaired aircraft to customers in the first quarter of 2011, performing airframe-related maintenance and modification on the planes.

ST Aerospace also delivered five aircraft that it converted from passenger planes to freighters during this three-month time period. Furthermore, ST Aerospace repaired 58 engines and 11,971 components for both commercial and military clients from January to March.

Another notable occurrence during the first quarter of 2011 was the installation of the first Boeing 757-200 at ST Aerospace’s Singapore facility for passenger-to-passenger/cargo conversion. ST Aerospace anticipates that the aircraft will be ready for redelivery to TNT Airways S.A. by the end of the year.
