TIACA training program completed in Africa

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has finished its first East African training program in partnership with the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Association (FEAFFA).

Twenty-four freight-forwarding executives from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda completed the five-day course. Training topics included supply chain and transportation management, IT, border control, and security.

“It is a significant boost to our program that so many executives in the region committed their free time to improving the caliber and professionalism of all members of the industry,” said TIACA’s Chales Edwards in a statement.

According to a press release, the initial concept for the training program was hatched during organization meetings early last year.

Classes were taught by Lilian Tan, director of training for Strategic Aviation Solutions International, with help from Edwards and FEAFFA's John Mathenge.

The 24 executives will now take the program to their respective countries.
