K+N expands European truck network

K+N is to offer its customers “KN Parcel” for shipments up to 32 kilograms and a climate-neutral groupage service where customers can compensate for CO2 emissions

Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) is to increase its European trucking network from 300 to 500 routes by 2014, with frequencies doubled to 2,000 departures a week.

K+N’s groupage network, based in Haiger, Germany, currently connects 38 countries. "We will add one new international direct connection each week during the next four years, with the objective to offer 500 scheduled connections throughout Europe by 2014," said Dirk Reich, member of the management board of Kuehne + Nagel International AG.

The company also is launching “KN Euro-Line,” a time-definite, tariff-based product suite to complement the expansion. Customers with time-sensitive shipments will be offered “KN Euro-Line Express” (with shorter transit times than the standard product) and “KN Euro-Line Express12” (shorter transit times and delivery before noon).

"Our standardized offer is tailored to customer needs for reliable, clearly structured and innovative products," Reich said. “From parcel to complete load — we’re offering the full range of solutions from a single source.”
