OAG Cargo updates airfreight rate management tool
OAG Cargo has announced enhancements to its AFRA Air Freight Rates tool. The result of extensive research and development, the online rate-management application is expected to be utilized by airlines and their customers worldwide.
OAG Cargo said the enhanced version of AFRA improves upon the original application, which was introduced in 2003 and is employed by 12,600 users at more than 900 freight-forwarding companies.
OAG Cargo Executive Vice President Dirk de Rooij maintains that the benefits of this tool are numerous. “The new version of AFRA sets the standard for rate management,” he said in a statement. “It is loaded with new features and benefits for airlines and forwarders of all sizes. And as a scalable web-server solution, it delivers improved performance and response times for general rates, promotional rates, customer contract rates and now also spot rates.”
One of the key new features to AFRA is the “e-acceptance” application, OAG said. Enabling airlines and freight forwarders to connect and document online rate contracts, this tool helps to eliminate inconsistencies in the billing process.
To de Rooij, such enhancements are part of OAG Cargo’s growth strategy. “With the launch of the new version of AFRA, we will be accelerating our growth into more markets, reinforcing our position as a leading provider of business-critical decision-making tools for the air cargo industry,” he said in a statement.
“We will also leverage the community of our other products, including Inforwarding, which now has more than 25,000 registered users worldwide. The optimized AFRA application is the first in a series of enhancements that OAG Cargo customers can look forward to in the coming months.”
