Swissport achieves 5.2 percent growth
Swissport International finished 2010 with a total revenue of CHF 1.74 billion, a 5.2 percent year-over-year growth.
According to the company, its new owner, PAI Partners, will help Swissport achieve similar numbers in 2011. The company says it can realistically achieve numbers in line with IATA's future industry growth estimates of 5.9 percent and 8.2 percent for passenger and cargo services, respectively.
“This is a good 2010 result that we have secured in a challenging environment,” Per Utnegaard, Swissport's president and CEO, said in a statement. “It’s also a clear confirmation to us that, with our strategy and our superior market performance, we can achieve tangible growth in our business and operations in 2011.”
Swissport highlights in 2010 included a new cargo warehouse in Nairobi, new operations in Munich and the start of Airbus A380 handling at Zurich Airport. Last year, the company also signed contracts with Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines and British Airways World Cargo.
