Air Cargo World's Air Cargo Excellence Survey
he fourth edition of the Air Cargo World's Air Cargo Excellence Survey found Japan's Nagoya International and Munich International the top rated airports worldwide and Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo the top vote getters among airlines.
The worldwide survey found Memphis International and Ted Stevens Anchorage International the top two airports in North America with 1 million tons or more annually and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Frankfurt International rated first and second in the same category among European airports.
Seoul Incheon International and Hong Kong International were rated first and second, respectively among the airports in Asia and the Middle East.
Dallas/Ft Worth International and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International were the top two airports in North America with cargo carried between 500,000 to 999,999 tons while Cologne/Bonn International and Luxembourg were the top airports in Europe in the same category. In the Middle East and Asia, Osaka's Kansai International, Shenzen-Baoan International and Tokyo Narita International were the top three, respectively.
Houston's George Bush Intercontinental and Vancouver International were first and second among airports handling 499,000 tons or less, while Munich International and London Gatwick the top two among European airports in the same category.

With its 116 score, Munich, a regional hub for Lufthansa and an aggressive campaigner for more international freight operations, was the top vote getter among all European airports.
Among Latin America airports, Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez International and Buenos Aires Ezeiza Ministro International were one and two, respectively.
Nagoya's Central Japan International, the top vote getter overall with a score of 118, Abu Dhabi International and Bahrain International were the top three among the small airports in Asia and the Middle East.
Among the top five air carriers grouped together this year, in order, are: Lufthansa, Swiss WorldCargo, Emirates SkyCargo, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Japan Airlines.
In the voting, airports were divided into sub-categories based on annual tonnage.
Survey respondents evaluated each company by rating four measures on a scale of one as the lowest to five as the highest. For each measure, the average rating across all companies in the survey was calculated and set to a value of 100.
Ratings for each company are presented as an indexed score, relative to the average, to allow for easy comparisons. A score greater than 100 represents above average performance; a score of less than 100 represents below average performance. A complete list is posted at www.aircargoworld.com.
Airports were rated on performance, value, facilities and operations. Air carriers were rated on customer service, performance, value and IT.
