Cargolux has launched the first regularly scheduled direct international cargo flight to Indianapolis International Airport.
The weekly 747-400 freighter service between Luxembourg and Indianapolis partners Roche Diagnostics, Schenker Logistics, and Cargolux. Twenty-four tons of diagnostic equipment and supplies and other cargo arrives every Friday.
Roche Diagnostics' North American headquarters is in Indianapolis.
The airport, operated by Britain'sBAA, handled a record 1.13 million tons of air cargo in 2005, making it the ninth-largest cargo airport in the U.S.
