TSA Revokes Forwarder Certification

The Transportation Security Administration on Thursday revoked the air forwarding certification of Los Angeles based J.H. World Express, saying the company has failed to meet security standards.

The action, the TSA first revocation of an indirect air carrier certificate since November 2002, means J.H. World Express won't be allowed to send shipments on board passenger aircraft.

TSA said it revoked the forwarder's certificate after "repeated security infractions" at Los Angeles International Airport. It said the agency "worked with the company to correct these violations but has not been satisfied with J.H. World's response."

Any passenger that accepts cargo from a non-TSA approved company faces a $25,000 fine, TSA said.

Calls to J.H. World Express offices in Southern California for comment were not immediately returned.
