Alaska Airlines on April 10 canceled 11 flights in order to perform inspections mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The inspections are focused on technical specifications for wire bundling in the wheel wells of the company's MD-80s and are not safety-of-flight issues, the airline said. Alaska Airlines flies nine MD-80, or 8 percent of its 115 aircraft fleet.
Thursday's cancellations affected three departures from Seattle, two departures each from Portland and Oakland, and one departure each from Anchorage, San Francisco, San Jose and Sacramento.
The airline canceled 28 flights Wednesday for inspections.
