A Kalitta Air freighter bound for Bahrain crashed on take-off Sunday in Brussels, Belgium.
The 747 cargo carrier split in two at the end of a runway at Brussels Airport just after midday May 25, according to news reports. Firefighters doused the wings with fire retardant; no flames occurred. No major injuries were reported, but four people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash left the aircraft approximately 10 meters from a railroad track. Rail services to and from the airport were temporarily suspended. Other flights were not affected.
