Amerer Air Acquires BAE 146 Freighter

Amerer Air, a privately held Austrian all-cargo carrier, is the first customer for the re-launched BAE Systems Regional Aircraft 146 Quiet Trader freighter program, ordering one Series 200.

The four-engine jet recently underwent conversion at the Aerostar facilities in Bacau, Romania and made its first flight June 25.

After delivery, the aircraft will be ferried to Amerer Air's base at Linz, Austria, before entering service. The aircraft will operate on behalf of the major integrated companies, and as an on-demand air charter aircraft.

The airline currently operates one Fokker F27-500 six-ton freighter, which serves freight forwarders and express cargo companies. In addition, the company operates an international truck transportation business as a supplement to the air freight sector.

Amerer was founded in 1995 by Captain Heinz Peter Amerer, who is joint owner and chief executive officer.
