China Cargo Taps Goodrich

China Cargo Airlines tapped Goodrich to supply the main deck and lower lobe cargo handling systems for its two new 747-400ERF freighters.

Goodrich said it will build the systems, which include the mechanical systems, power drive units, electrical control systems and floor panels, at its Jamestown, N.D. plant and deliver them to Boeing next year. China Cargo is slated to take delivery of the two freighters in July 2006 and August 2007.

"This selection demonstrates that our advanced cargo loading system for the …747-400ERF provides operators a high performance cargo system that exceeds reliability and cost effectiveness expectations. It also adds to our growing presence in the Chinese marketplace," said Tim Dumbauld, cargo systems vice president and general manager at Goodrich.
