Singapore Airlines Cargo won phase one accreditation in the Cargo 2000 shipping quality program for its routes between Singapore and Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne and Tokyo.
The airline says it will next pursue Cargo 2000 accreditation, which includes standard processes and technology for handling air cargo traffic, for its entire network.
Under the Cargo 2000 guidelines, member airlines and forwarders handle shipments under strict timelines for airport-to-airport shipping.
"The common platform is vital in driving efficiencies and improvements for all participants in the supply chain and I am delighted that SIA Cargo has been awarded its Certificate of Approval." said Hwang Teng Aun, President of Singapore Airlines Cargo.
