Airlines

Lufthansa Cargo: The airline's time matters critical shipments division named Jörg Asbrand to the new position of chief operations and customer service officer. Asbrand, 41, had been at Lufthansa Technik since 1999 as director of product sales and customer service. He worked before that at the Roland Berger & Partner consulting firm.

Etihad: Etihad Crystal Cargo named two new executives as part of its rapid expansion. Rajan Handa was appointed regional cargo sales manager for South Asia. Handa was previously head of outstations at Gulf Air. Etihad also named James Michael Gilliard regional cargo sales manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Europe and the Americas. Gilliard is a 17-year veteran of Cathay Pacific Cargo, and, most recently, was the European regional cargo manager for Gulf Air.

Great Wall Airlines: The Chinese freight airline named Kevin Dews, working as a general sales agent, its cargo sales executive for the Northern Region of the United Kingdom.

Integrators

UPS: The company named three senior financial executives and a manager of its main air hub. Rich Peretz, 45, vice president of international finance, was named vice president of finance; Teresa Finley, 45, vice president of investor relations, is the new chief financial officer for international operations; and Andy Dolny, 49, who had been CFO of UPS Supply Chain Solutions, will succeed Finley as vice president of investor relations. UPS also named Steve Mockus district manager for its Louisville air and freight operations, succeeding Brendan Canavan, who became district manager of North Europe. UPS also named F. Duane Ackerman, former chairman and CEO of BellSouth, to the board of directors.

Third Parties

DHL: DHL Global Forwarding named Kelvin Leung to the new position of chief operating officer for the Asia Pacific region and made him a member of the company's Asia Pacific management board. He had been vice president at the forwarding operation for Hong Kong, South China and Macau.

Associated Global Systems: The New York-based forwarder named Timothy Hunt district service manager in Sterling, Va., outside Washington Dulles International Airport. Hunt had been vice president of operations at a startup cartage company he helped launch. He started his career at Virginia Courier and later worked at Emery Worldwide and EGL at Dulles.

Estes Air Forwarding: The forwarding division of trucking company Estes Express promoted 25-year air freight industry veteran Steven Mulloy to managing director of operations as the business expanded its scale with new additions around the United States. The company also named Gary Weekly, formerly director of international field operations at SEKO, managing director for international. Estes Air named David Bergeson director of sales in the West and Dave Pollard, formerly with Con-Way Air, director of sales in the East.

Aeronet: The California-based logistics company named Ed Krieger vice president of operations. Krieger, who joined Aeronet in 1994, had been vice president of risk management and compliance and will retain those duties in his new position.

Textron Financial: The company, which provides financing for the aviation industry, named Ray Morandell senior vice president and national sales manager at the commercial finance division, He replaces Robert Wagner, who was named general manager of the division. Morandell came to Textron from GE Capital.

Trans Global Logistics: The Hong Kong-based forwarder named Michael Goh regional director of TGL-China. Goh had been Trans Global's corporate director of service and quality assurance in Hong Kong. He succeeds Danny Leung, who was named corporate finance director. Goh joined TGL from Singapore-based forwarder S-Net and earlier was Asia-Pacific managing director for OIA Global Logistics.

Ground Handling

Swissport International: The board of directors at the global ground handler named Per H. Utnegaard president and chief executive of Swissport Group. Utnegaard, 47, replaces Santiago Olivares, who became CEO of Ferrovial Servicios, a sister company. A onetime senior executive at DHL/Danzas and TNT, Utnegaard recently ran his own management consultancy.

SATS: Singapore Airport Terminal Services named Clement Woon Hin Yong chief executive officer of the airport handler. Woon had been president of the GeoSystems division of Leica Geosystems. He replaces Ng Chin Hwee, who returned to SATS parent Singapore Airlines.

Worldwide Flight Services: The ground handler named Adolfo Morales executive vice president and chief operating officer for North America. A 25-year air freight industry veteran, Morales had been WFS's senior vice president for planning and control. He was at cargo airline SwiftAir before that as managing director and worked earlier for Panalpina, American Airlines and DHL Aviation and for WFS predecessor AMR Services.

Manufacturers

AAR: The aviation equipment company named Terry Stinson group vice president for AAR's structures and systems segment, including responsibility for the cargo systems, composites and mobility systems operating units. Stinson was most recently president of commercial operations for Thomas Group, a consulting firm, and chairman and chief executive officer of Xelus. He was a senior executive at Textron, including chairman and CEO of Bell Helicopter Textron, and was president and CEO of Hamilton Standard, a division of United Technologies. AAR also named retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Donald J. Wetekam president of AAR Aircraft Services. Wetekam, who was deputy chief of staff for installations and logistics with the Air Force, will lead operations at AAR's 300,000 square-foot MRO facility at Oklahoma's Will Rogers World Airport, as well as AAR's Hot Springs, Arkansas and Roswell, New Mexico MRO.

Boeing: The aircraft manufacturer named Daniel Gillian director of enterprise sourcing for India. Gillian has held several positions in program management and engineering during his seven-year tenure at Boeing. He most recently was program manager for avionics on critical platforms for Boeing Integrated Defense Systems.

Trucking

Celadon: The U.S. truckload carrier named Cathy Langham, president and chief executive officer of Indiana-based Langham Transport, to its board of directors. Langham chairs the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and a former chairperson of the U.S. Airforwarders Association.

Airports

Centrair: The Central Japan International Airport named board Chairman Yoshimi Inaba chief executive officer. He had been an executive vice president of Toyota Motor. In addition, Shigeko Ito, a former advisor to the Denso firm, will replace Kunikatsu Yamashita as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer.
