Kingfisher adds Xpress delivery

Kingfisher Xpress - Formula 1 delivery apparently not an option.

Kingfisher Airlines has launched Kingfisher Xpress, a door-to-door service that includes a same day offering it claims is India’s first such product with a money-back guarantee.

The airline said it will collect shipments up to 175 kilos (386 lbs.) in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata with guaranteed same day delivery to Bagdogra, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Kochi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Raipur, Ranchi, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pune and Srinagar.

Prakash Mirpuri, Kingfisher vice president for Corporate Communications noted, “Kingfisher Xpress has been conceived with a view to serving the unmet needs of users who are looking for a solution which ensures that their shipment reaches the recipient’s doorstep on the very same day. Our confidence in this service reflects in our money back guarantee. "

The airline is also offering next-day delivery to 20 cities in India as well as door-to-airport, airport-to-door and counter-to-counter express services.

Meanwhile, prompted by a further loss of $232.6 million for nine months to Dec. 2009 - two percent more than the same period in 2008 - Kingfisher has reportedly hired the Seabury Group in a bid to reverse the decline.

Mirpuri is quoted saying, “Seabury has been hired to come in and assist us in sustaining long-term profitability by further strengthening the operational and financial performance of the company.”
