The first aircraft is at PEMCO’s facility in Tampa, Fla., and the second is at a facility in Jinan, China.
AERGO is a commercial aircraft lessor, and PEMCO is an aircraft maintenance provider.
The aircraft are Boeing 737-400 11-position freighters that can accommodate a wide variety of containers or pallets, plus a smaller hazmat-capable container. This configuration is the world’s only 737-400F engineered to comply with forthcoming fire-hazard-related hazmat regulations.
“We are very pleased that the conversion of the first two aircraft is well underway, and we have an additional three aircraft lined up for completion by Q2 2013,” said Fred Browne, AERGO CEO. “We are confident that we will convert half or more of the first 20-aircraft order within the next 12 months.”
