U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) administrator John S. Pistole will be the keynote speaker at The International Air Cargo Association’s (TIACA) Air Cargo Forum in Seoul.
Pistole will speak at the luncheon on Oct. 8, addressing participants on air cargo issues including risk-based security measures.
Pistole was confirmed as the TSA’s fifth administrator in July 2010. He oversees management of a 60,000-strong workforce, the security operations of more than 450 federalized airports throughout the U.S., the Federal Air Marshal Service, and the security for highways, railroads, ports, mass transit systems and pipelines.
Pistole came to TSA as a 26-year veteran of the FBI with national security and counterterrorism experience. After the events of Sept. 11, 2001, he was put in charge of the FBI’s expanded counterterrorism program. In 2004, Pistole was named deputy director for the FBI.
